Faculty of Communication, is a higher education institution, aiming to endow its students with theoretical background in communication studies, a discipline that will be of vital importance in the coming century, as well as with experience and ability in its practical implementation.

Our faculty, which had three departments from its establishment on, namely Department of Journalism, Department of Radio, Television and Cinema and Department of Public Relations and Publicity, has expanded its capacity in the academic year 2001-2002, with the addition of the Department of Visual Communication Design.
In all departments first year students take introductory lessons in social sciences in order that they are informed better about these disciplines closely related to communication studies, and have larger perspectives, enabling them to develop the intellectual capacity anticipated from university students.

Our students start to take the courses of their own departments in their second year, including theoretical and practical studies. Our academic staff includes eminent scholars who can combine and integrate theory and practice. Studies and laboratories equipped with the state of the art technology adaptable to the rapid development in technology are at the service of our students. The students with a successful academic performance are awarded with the chance of undergoing training in selected institutions, hence getting acquainted with professional life. In sum, our students gain information and experience not only in the history, theoretical foundations and ethics of their discipline, but also in its technical and practical implementation.

Each academic year, 60 students (10 with scholarships) are registered into the Department of Journalism, 90 students (15 with scholarships) in the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema and 135 students (15 with scholarships) in the Department of Public Relations and Publicity. In addition, 60 students (5 with scholarships) will be registered in the new Department of Visual Communication after a special talent examination.
