Kidney Stone Problems are Seen in 5 Out of 100 Children

Pointing out that 5 out of every 100 children have kidney stone problems, Pediatric Surgery Specialist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şafak Karaçay stated that children and babies cannot express their complaints and emphasized that genetic factors and nutrition should be paid attention to.

Kidney stone problems, which are considered as an adult disease, are one of the most common problems in children. Yeditepe University Kozyatağı Hospital Pediatric Surgery Specialist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şafak Karaçay made important statements on the subject. Stating that this problem should not be limited to the kidneys, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şafak Karaçay said, “Kidney stones in infants and children are a common ailment. We can detect as high a rate as we can see in 5 out of 100 children".
