Stating that the incidence of colon cancer before the age of 50 has doubled in recent years, General Surgery Specialist Prof. Dr. Cüneyt Kayaalp drew attention to the study of the American Gastroenterology Association. Prof. Dr. Kayaalp stated that according to the study, the screening age was reduced from 50 to 45.

Expressing that colon or large intestine cancer is always among the top 3 cancers in the world for both genders, Prof. Dr. Cüneyt Kayaalp continued, “It is a type of cancer that we see frequently. Genetic factors are effective in the occurrence of colon cancer. People with a family history of colon cancer have a higher incidence of the disease. But besides this, the foods we eat and drink are highly important. Inactivity, not consuming pulp foods, GMO foods all increase the risk. Natural, fibrous foods, movement, fluid intake, and exercise are vital for protection”.
