Luma Short Film Festival Awards Were Presented

Luma Kısa Film Festivali’nde Ödüller Sahiplerini Buldu

AWARDS PRESENTED AT THE 3RD LUMA SHORT FILM FESTIVAL

The 3rd Luma Short Film Festival, which aimed to support students in achieving their short film projects and to promote young talents, has successfully awarded deserving winners.

The third Luma Short Film Festival award ceremony, organized by Yeditepe University Cinema Club in collaboration with Ay Production, occurred on October 20, 2023, at the Yeditepe University İnan Kıraç Hall.

Over 300 students submitted festival entries, including competitions in Short Film, Short Film Screenplay, and Feature-Length Screenplay categories. Before the award ceremony, a panel discussion was held featuring actors Kerem Bürsin and Damla Sönmez, producer Armağan Lale, and screenwriter Ece Yörenç, who met with the students. A birthday cake was cut during the panel to celebrate Ece Yörenç's birthday.

ADVISORY BOARD
The 3rd Luma Short Film Festival was organized with contributions from an Advisory Board of many famous producers, directors, and actors in the field. The board included Ercan Kesal, Yamaç Okur, Ceylan Özgün Özçelik, Michael Önder, Mehmet Göksu, as well as Yeditepe University alumni Damla Sönmez, Armağan Lale, Alican Durbaş, Öykü Ersoy, and former Yeditepe University Cinema Club Presidents Umut Ege Özkan, Mehmet Anıl Acar, and Berkay Onur Akkaya. The advisory board supported students in planning and conducting the festival, which was held between October 17-20. The festival featured various panel discussions and workshops, allowing students to interact with numerous leading figures in the field.

WINNERS

The films submitted by students were evaluated by a jury of leading industry professionals and Yeditepe University academics at the 3rd Luma Short Film Festival held this year. The jury members for the Short Film Competition were Çağrı Vila Lostuvalı, Emin Alper, and Meryem Yavuz; for the Short Film Screenplay Competition, they were Armağan Lale, Damla Sönmez, and Ece Yörenç; and for the Feature-Length Screenplay Competition, they were Çağla Zencirci, Erdi Işık, and Meriç Acemi. Based on these assessments, the festival's winners were determined.

Honorable Mention: “Together Forever” by Zeynep Sude Karabulut - 20,000 TL
Jury Special Award: “The Haze” by Atakan Köse & Mert Akbay - 20,000 TL

SHORT FILM SCREENPLAY COMPETITION

Best Short Screenplay Award: “Hangi Yarısını Sevmeli İnsan” by Buğra Özverel - 40,000 TL
Best Short Screenplay Award: “Kul Hakkı” by Hacer Usta - 40,000 TL
Best Short Screenplay Award: “Rehber” by Mert Erez - 40,000 TL

FEATURE-LENGTH SCREENPLAY COMPETITION

Best Feature-Length Screenplay Award: “Benim Mutlu Ailem” by Alkım Özmen - 40,000 TL
Feature-Length Honorable Mention: “Hep Aklımda” by Eda Bebek - 20,000 TL
