Yeditepe University and YASAD Cooperation in Software

Yeditepe University and the Software Industrialists Association (YASAD) have signed a sustainable university-industry collaboration protocol aimed at contributing to the development of the software field, meeting the sector's demand for qualified human resources, strengthening software companies, and enhancing export potential. The signing ceremony took place at Yeditepe University's 26th August Campus in Ataşehir, attended by Yeditepe University Rector Prof. Dr. Canan Aykut Bingöl, YASAD Board Member Gönül Kamalı, YASAD Secretary General Sevilay Güven, YASAD Assistant Secretary General Kader Karaçay, Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Informatics Sciences at Yeditepe University Prof. Dr. B. Tevfik Akgün, Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aşkın Demirağ, and Head of Computer Engineering Department Prof. Dr. Gürhan Küçük.

The Industry Needs Qualified Software Developers and IT Professionals

During the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Canan Aykut Bingöl stated that the Faculty of Computer and Informatics Sciences at Yeditepe University was established with the aim of meeting the country's need for qualified IT professionals and software developers by bringing together departments in software and informatics. Prof. Dr. Canan Aykut Bingöl emphasized that the collaboration protocol signed with YASAD is a significant step towards this goal. YASAD Board Member Gönül Kamalı highlighted the promising future of the software and informatics field, noting that graduates from these departments are qualified and intellectual individuals who view the world differently. Kamalı also pointed out the serious need for technicians and managers in the software sector, stressing, "The biggest issue in this field is field experience. Therefore, university-industry collaboration is essential for engineers and IT professionals." Additionally, the Turkish Software Works study, prepared with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and presented by YASAD, was handed over to Prof. Dr. Canan Aykut Bingöl and Prof. Dr. Bekir Tevfik Akgün during the ceremony.
