ATTENTION OUR TURNITIN and ITHENTICATE USERS!!!
In today's digital culture, plagiarism, like everything else, is done online. Originality Check, to academics; helps students check their work for inappropriate citations or possible plagiarism by benchmarking it against the world's most sensitive text comparison database. TURNITIN platform; It enables the similarity detection of resource types such as thesis, homework, project and book. You must have an ITHENTICATE account to be able to detect article similarity. Our academics who are obliged to teach can use the Turnitin platform. the Ithenticate platform; Faculty members with a doctorate degree or higher can use it. Academicians who do not have a Turnitin or Ithenticate account can send their requests by sending an e-mail to nurhan.kabakulak@yeditepe.edu.tr
One of the most important points to consider when uploading a thesis to the Turnitin system is to tick the "NO STORAGE" option. Otherwise, there will be a conflict problem when uploading the thesis for the second time and the similarity will be 100%. In order to prevent this from happening, the “NO STORAGE” option must be checked in Turnitin assignment settings.
For student assignments uploaded to the Turnitin system, "Standard Written Assignment Repository" must be selected. At this point, if the student has a conflict with his/her own assignment, if the instructor is sure of the conflicting source and does not see any plagiarism, he/she can remove the conflicting sources from the filtering panel and create a new report. How to remove the overlapping sources from the similarity ratio is provided for your valuable comments in the attached video guide.
